
Marching Band
The Plymouth-Canton Marching Band is a nationally recognized competitive marching ensemble known for excellence, teamwork, and large-scale visual performance. Students perform themed productions that combine music, movement,
and storytelling on the football field.​​

Program Overview
Fall 2026
The P-CEP Marching Band is a co-curricular ensemble open to all high school band students, grades 9–12. There are no auditions to join the ensemble, though auditions are required for certain leadership roles or specialized sections. Every student performs in every show, creating a shared experience that builds unity, confidence, and pride.
​The Marching Band has won the Michigan Competing Band Association (MCBA) Flight 1 state champion twenty-seven times, been a Bands of America Grand National finalist twenty-one times, a Bands of America Regional Champion five times, and is a three-time BOA Grand National Champion.
​
The Marching Band also marched two times in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California ('16, & '73) as well as the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade in New York ('11). The Marching Band has also had the distinction of playing for Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, and Bill Clinton.

Who Can Join?
All Are Welcome!
Marching Band is open to all band students in grades 9–12 who are enrolled in a band class. No prior marching experience is required.
​
Color Guard is also open to all students at P-CEP, including non-musicians. Students with backgrounds in dance or gymnastics often thrive in this section.


Why Marching Band?
Marching Band offers students a unique opportunity to perform as part of a large, collaborative team while developing musical skill, discipline, leadership, and resilience. Students build lifelong friendships while participating in one of the most visible and celebrated programs at Plymouth-Canton.

It's is made up of four main sections that perform together as one unified ensemble:

Winds: Woodwind (Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone) and Brass (Trumpet, French Horn, Baritone/Trombone, and Tuba) instruments.

Percussion: Marching Battery (Snare, Tenor, Bass Drums) and Front Ensemble (marimba, vibraphone, timpani, auxiliary percussion, and electronics)
