Here are some tips and useful information on how to use the P-CEP Bands calendar.
Calendar Categories
The calendar is divided up into several categories:
- P-CEP Bands Main Calendar - The P-CEP Bands calendar includes all All performances, fundraisers and general events. These events show up in red on the calendar.
- Marching Band Rehearsals - This calendar contains all the marching band rehearsal information, including events such as uniform fittings and band camp activities. Marching band performances and competitions are shown on the main calendar. These events are shown in yellow.
- Jazz Band Rehearsals - This calendar lists Jazz band rehearsals for all three Jazz ensembles. Performances are on the main calendar. These events are shown in purple.
- Winter Guard Rehearsals - Rehearsals for the Winter Guard. Rehearsals for the Marching Band guard follow the Marching Band Rehearsal calendar. Performances are on the main calendar. These events are shown in pink.
- Winter Percussion Rehearsals - Rehearsals for the Winter Percussion. Rehearsals for the Marching Band percussion follow the Marching Band Rehearsal calendar. Performances are on the main calendar. These events are shown in green.
- Other Events - There are some events that are relevant to students of the program that are not directly related to the P-CEP Band program, such as middle school concerts, ACT testing days and Solo and Ensemble dates. These events are displayed in light blue.
- US Holidays - This is the default holiday calendar offered by Google Calendar. Holidays are displayed in gray.
You can filter the calendar based on which events you wish to see. Scroll to the bottom of the Calendar page and uncheck the calendars you want to remove from the view. Note that the main calendar cannot be filtered out.
Importing or Linking to the Calendars
You have the option of importing or linking to the Band calendar from your own calendar if you have a calendar with that capability. If you want to import an individual event, you can click on the event to open the details, then click on the "Copy to Google calendar" or "Copy to outlook (ICS)" depending on which type of calendar you use. You can also click on one of the HTML links below to view all the events of an individual calendar.
The iCal link can be used to either import or link to the individual calendar. To import the calendar, click the iCal link to download the calendar file. You can then import the events into your calendar using that file. Note that once you import the calendar, you will not receive any updates from the band calendar. If your calendar supports it, it is better to link to the calendars you need.
The iCal link is also used to link to the band calendars. Every e-mail system is different, so it is not possible to provide definitive instructions here on how to link a calendar. These are Google calendars so it is likely you can easily find the instructions you need on-line. Here are link to some of the more common calendars (based on Fanout subscribers):
