The Plymouth Canton Music Boosters (PCMB) is sponsoring a private instrumental music lesson reimbursement program. Private lessons will help the student to acquire the necessary skills for full enjoyment of music through their instrument. Each individual instrument has its own characteristic problems and each student approaches these problems differently. Private lessons will help the student to eliminate these problems and allow them to progress at their own speed and level. Please note that this is not a money making project nor is it a requirement for participation in the instrumental program at Plymouth Canton Community Schools.
The PCMB Private Instrumental Music Lesson reimbursement program is a reward program that offers a discount to students taking private lesson instruction on the primary instrument that the student plays in one of the five curricular bands. The amount of the reimbursement awarded to students may change from semester to semester pending enrollment in this program, funds available, and the private lesson instructor (Approved by the P-CEP Band Directors).
Who is eligible: | 9th through 12th grade students in one of the five curricular bands |
When: | September through May |
Length of lesson: | 30 minutes or at an agreed duration |
Where: | Plymouth High School Band practice rooms or other location |
Instructors: | Undergraduate, graduate, doctoral candidates, graduate instructors with at least 5 years of experience teaching private lessons. (Approved by P-CEP Band Directors) |
Reimbursement: | $10.00 per lesson (10 lessons per semester maximum) |
If you are interested in having your student participate in this program, please fill out the application on the next page, then click on “submit” at the bottom of the page. Your application will be reviewed by the band directors and you will be notified when approved. Once approved, schedule your lessons with an approved instructor and maintain a record using the reimbursement form that will be sent to you by the coordinator. Please contact one of the band directors if further information is needed.
