The estimated driving distance is 613 miles; the calculated drive time is approximately 11 hours without stops. 2 hours of additional time has been factored into your travel for driver changes, rest & meal stops and potential traffic delays. Your route will not take you through Canada.

SATURDAY, MAY 16th

MEALS INCLUDED TODAY: BREAKFAST & DINNER

6:30 AM

Arrive at your hotel, the Embassy Suites by Hilton Newark Airport (OR SIMILAR, YOUR HOTEL IS STILL TBD). Upon your arrival you’ll unload the coaches and store your luggage at the hotel pending availability of space.

YOUR PROFESSIONAL BOB ROGERS TRAVEL TOUR DIRECTORS (TWO) WILL MEET YOU HERE AND ACCOMPANY YOUR GROUP THROUGHOUT YOUR TOUR.

20 Changing Rooms will be provided for your group to freshen up before starting your first full day in NYC. You’ll split into two separate groups, while one group is freshening up the other will have breakfast. PLEASE NOTE; YOUR ROOMS WILL NOT BE READY TO CHECK-IN TO UNTIL LATER TODAY.

MORNING

10:00 AM Board the coaches and transfer to the St. George Staten Island Ferry Terminal.
11:00 AM Take the Staten Island Ferry, where from the deck you will have a perfect view of Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. You'll see the skyscrapers and bridges as you get closer to Lower Manhattan.
11:30 AM

Arrive in lower Manhattan at the Whitehall Terminal.

Lunch will be at your own expense in lower Manhattan this afternoon.

1:00 PM Arrive at the National September 11 Memorial. The National September 11 Memorial is a tribute of remembrance and honor to the nearly 3,000 people killed in the terror attacks of September 11, 2001 at the World Trade Center site, near Shanksville, Pa., and at the Pentagon, as well as the six people killed in the World Trade Center bombing in February 1993. The Memorial’s twin reflecting pools are each nearly an acre in size and feature the largest manmade waterfalls in North America. The pools sit within the footprints where the Twin Towers once stood. Bob Rogers Travel is a Charter Member and Memorial Builder for the National September 11 Memorial.
1:30 PM Entry time to the 9/11 Memorial Museum. The 9/11 Memorial Museum is an educational and historical institution honoring the victims and examining 9/11 and its continued global significance. (PLEASE NOTE, TIMES ARE SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY AND CHANGE, DUE TO THE OVERALL SIZE OF YOUR GROUP YOU MAY BE SPLIT INTO SEPARATE GROUPS)
4:00 PM Board your locally hired coaches and transfer to dinner.
5:00 PM Arrive for dinner at the Crossroads American Kitchen. A vibrant Times Square restaurant and lounge. Dine in a dramatic atrium setting, with a spectacular 21-foot mirrored spiral bar.
7:00 PM Walk to the theatre for your Broadway Show.
8:00 PM Curtain rises on your Broadway Musical! (PLEASE NOTE, YOUR SHOW IS STILL TBD AND ALL SHOWS ARE SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY, $120.00 HAS BEEN BUDGETED FOR YOUR TICKETS)
11:00 PM Board your locally hired coaches and return to your hotel, upon your arrival you’ll secure your luggage and check-in to your rooms.

SUNDAY, MAY 17th

Board the coaches and transfer into Manhattan for your clinic.

10:00 AM BROADWAY INSTRUMENTAL CLINIC (2 Hours) - Place your students directly in the world of a Broadway pit musician, playing for Broadway’s best performers! This workshop is designed for the High School level Band or Orchestra. Working with a Broadway musician, your students will sight read and prepare a special performance of a selected piece of Broadway music. After 90 minutes of work on the piece, your group will be joined by a Broadway performer who will then perform with your students.
12:00 PM

Board the coaches and transfer to Chelsea Market.

Lunch will be at your own expense this afternoon at Chelsea Market.

2:00 PM Board the coaches at a predetermined location off of the High Line and transfer to Board the coaches at a predetermined location off of the High Line and transfer to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum.
2:30 PM Arrive at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum and prepare for your performance.
TIME TBD The Plymouth Canton Educational Park High School Band performs at The Intrepid.
(PLEASE NOTE, YOUR PERFORM IS SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY AND APPROVAL)
TIME TBD At the conclusion of your performance load your instruments and change on the coaches and enjoy exploring the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum. Your admission includes the Intrepid Aircraft carrier, the Growler and the Space Shuttle. The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is dedicated to the exhibition and interpretation of history, science, and service as related to its home aboard the aircraft carrier Intrepid, a National Historic Landmark. As you explore the Museum you will be able to examine original artifacts, view historic video footage, and explore interactive exhibits.
5:00 PM Board the coaches and transfer to dinner.
6:00 PM Arrive for dinner at Cucina & Company / Rockefeller Plaza.
7:30 PM Walk to the Top of the Rock.
7:50 PM Experience Top of the Rock, the six-level observatory atop the Art Deco skyscraper,30 Rockefeller Plaza which offers fantastic 360 degree views of the New York Cityskyline!
9:30 PM Walk to the Times Square where you’ll have an opportunity to see this vibrant area at night time.
10:00 PM Board the coaches and transfer to your hotel for the evening.

MONDAY, MAY 18th

Arrive at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The MET is the largest art museum in the United States and one of the ten largest in the world. Its permanent collection contains more than two million works, divided among seventeen curatorial departments. The main building, located on the eastern edge of Central Park along Manhattan's Museum Mile, is by area one of the world's largest art galleries.

Lunch will be at your own expense this afternoon.

OPTIONAL FREE AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES:

  • You’ll have the opportunity to explore/shop 5th Avenue.
  • Visit Columbus Circle & Macy’s.
  • Visit St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The Cathedral of St. Patrick is a decorated Neo-Gothic-style Roman Catholic cathedral church in the United States and a prominent landmark of New York City.
  • Hudson Yards’ Vessel Sculpture. The Vessel is a climbable staircase sculpture, at 150 feet tall, 2,500 steps, 154 interconnected flights of stairs and 80 landings.
TIME TBD Walk to Times Square. Time Square is located at the intersection of Broadway and Seventh Avenue, stretching from West 42nd to West 47th Streets. Times Square is known as the "The Crossroads of the World" and the "The Great White Way" which is the brightly illuminated hub of the Broadway theater district. One of the world's busiest pedestrian intersections, and a major center of the world's entertainment industry. You will never find another place like it!
5:00 PM Board the coaches and transfer to Chelsea Piers.
6:30 PM Boarding begins on the Spirit of New York.
7:00 PM Set sail for your Dinner / DJ Dance Harbor Cruise on the Spirit of New York. The best sights of New York are from the water and the Spirit of New York will deliver all of New York Harbors to your table side. Get up-close to the Statue of Liberty. Cruise under the breath-taking Brooklyn Bridge. Admire the South Street Seaport and the Financial District. No other place in New York will show you the city like this.
10:00 PM Board the coaches and return to your hotel for the evening.

 

TUESDAY, MAY 19th
