Prior to teaching in the Ann Arbor area, Margaret maintained a small studio of students in the Kalamazoo and Sturgis areas. All of her students who have competed in Solo and Ensemble have earned Division I ratings, and many hold first chair positions with their school’s band, and/or orchestra and participate in extra curricular youth orchestras or ensembles.

Margaret’s studies include a Specialist degree (SM) and Masters degree (MM) from the University of Michigan in clarinet performance and a Bachelors degree (BM) from Western Michigan University in clarinet performance.

Margaret’s non-musical interests include anything animal related, cooking, hiking (both Colorado and Michigan are great for this), cross-country skiing, drawing, reading and knitting. Current TV obsessions include the Great British Bake off (because who doesn’t love biscuits and British people?!) and Stranger Things. Anything else you might want to know, you’ll have to schedule a lesson with her to find out!
