Andy Wade

Andy Wade obtained his degree in music education from Central Michigan University where he studied percussion with Dr. Andrew Spencer. He has received awards including the Robert Hayes Award for excellence in jazz performance as well as the Grant G. Skomski and Mary Jane Flanagan Award for excellence in percussion. He was featured in many honors convocation recitals at Central Michigan’s school of music. He has played and recorded with many solo musicians and large groups such as Frank Tiberi, Wayne Bergeron, Robbie Smith, Dominic Bierenga, Haruki Hakoyama, Kortez Buckner, Hush, Central Michigan’s Jazz Lab One, The Common Denominator, Paddlebots, Moving Mind Jazz Orchestra and many more.

His marching performance experience includes being a member of NorthCoast Academy percussion ensemble from 2010-2013, where he was the battery section leader and center snare in 2013. He also marched two summers of Drum Corps International with The Crossmen Drum and Bugle corps in 2011 and Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps in 2012.

His teaching experience includes Walled Lake Percussion from 2010 to 2011 and percussion director at Walled Lake Northern High School in 2010. He was arranger and percussion director for Mount Pleasant High School from 2011-2015. His world class ensemble teaching experience includes North Coast Academy percussion ensemble and Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps. He is currently a staff member of the Legends drum and bugle corps as well as Redline Percussion. Along with that, he is percussion arranger for Huron Valley Percussion and Lakeland High School.

Mr. Wade is currently the private lessons instructor for percussion at Plymouth High School as well as co-director of the Middle School percussion ensemble and J.V. Drum Line. He is a staff member of the Plymouth-Canton Marching Band and P-CEP winter percussion and does percussion clinics in the district.
