Cindy SmitHere are some photos from 1977 / 78 and a picture of our director, Mr. Griffith. He is the founding father of the Plymouth band program, and if it wasn't for him, the program would not be where it is today.

Click here to read an article written by Elaine Guregian, who was an oboe player in the Plymouth band, and my first oboe teacher.

I think she graduated in 1975 or 1976. She was a member of the Rose Parade band. She wrote this article in September of 1989 in recognition of Mr. Griffith's retirement. It appeared in a Music Educators magazine.

I graduated in 1979 and played the oboe in the Symphony band and was a member of the colorguard.

After I graduated from Plymouth I attended the University of Michigan school of music and graduated with a degree in music education. I moved to the Los Angeles area in 1983 and continue to teach, play in concert bands, orchestras and chamber music ensembles.

I have a son who is active in his high school band program, and it is fun to see him experience the thrill of performing as I did in high school.
