Andrew Raven is currently the Associate Director of Bands and Woodwind Specialist for Plymouth-Canton Education Park in Canton, Michigan. Prior to his appointment, Andrew attended Oklahoma State University earning a Master of Music degree in Wind Conducting studying with Dr. Joseph Missal and a Master of Music degree in Clarinet Performance studying with Professor Babette Belter. His additional collegiate studies include a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Michigan State University.

While at Oklahoma State University, Andrew served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in both wind conducting and clarinet performance. He conducted all the Oklahoma State concert ensembles, wrote drill and arranged music for the 300-member Cowboy Marching Band, assisted with beginning and advanced undergraduate conducting classes and single reeds methods, and was the principal clarinet in the Oklahoma State Wind Ensemble for two years. While at Michigan State University, Andrew was a member of the Spartan Marching Band, playing alto saxophone, played Bb Clarinet, Eb Clarinet, Bb Contra Clarinet, and Eb Alto Clarinet in the concert ensemble, and studied abroad in Todi, Italy

Andrew has performed for world renowned clarinetist, Julian Bliss, and performed with Leona Mitchell, Chris Martin, and the H2 Saxophone Quartet while at Oklahoma State. He has also toured and performed throughout Europe with Voyagers International as principal clarinet.

Prior work experience for Andrew includes serving as Director of Middle School Bands at Linden, Michigan, and Director of Bands at Berrien Springs, Michigan. He has also worked as marching band woodwind instructor at Grant, Dowagiac and Greenville, and clarinet Instructor at Holt.

When not working, Andrew enjoys playing with his dog, Lacy, watching soccer, and attending Michigan State football and basketball games.
