Winter Drumline

Also known as Indoor Percussion, this sport combines the elements of music performance, marching and theater creating a one-of-a-kind ensemble.

Winter Drumline consists of the marching percussion (or battery) and front ensemble (or pit) sections of a marching band or drum corps. The activity is sometimes referred to as percussion theater.

Indoor Percussion enters its 16th season with more than 170 percussion ensembles from 31 states. The 2008 World Championships will be held in Dayton, OH, April 17, 18 and 19, when groups will compete in eight classes serving both scholastic and independent groups in concert, and marching presentations. Spectators will enjoy this activity at 18 Regional contests and World Championships.
