Winter Drumline
Also known as Indoor Percussion, this sport combines the elements of music performance, marching and theater creating a one-of-a-kind ensemble.
Winter Drumline consists of the marching percussion (or battery) and front ensemble (or pit) sections of a marching band or drum corps. The activity is sometimes referred to as percussion theater.
Indoor Percussion enters its 18th season with more than 170 percussion ensembles from 31 states. The 2010 World Championships were held in Dayton, OH, April 15, 16 and 17th. Percussion groups compete in eight classes serving both scholastic and independent ensembles in concert, and marching presentations. Spectators will enjoy this activity at 18 Regional contests and World Championships.
